In 2006 Mark Herzog, President of Skyline Dredging & Excavating effectively and efficiently redesigned the use of his Skyline Yarders so that they could be used in the copper mines. This redesign ushered in a new era for leaching copper. Skyline Dredging & Excavating was able to lay 8 hoses in 5 minutes for the leaching of copper at the Phelps Dodge Morenci Copper Mine, located in Morenci, AZ. This new method provided a significant reduction in cost as well as a much safer method within their leaching division.
